Mau Mau Sex Sex

"Ted Bonnitt's solidly crafted DV documentary. "

Dan Sonney and David Friedman, pioneer producers in the uniquely American field of road-show exploitation, are affectionately portrayed in their 70s and 80s as bickering suburbanite retirees. It would be hard to make an unengaging movie about these eloquent reprobates. Turn on the camera and the colorful memories come rolling out, from queasy "topical" rip-offs like "Child Bride" in the 1930's, to "Goldilocks and the Three Bares" and "Blood Feast," the nudie-cuties and the gore films of the 1950s. It's fun hanging out with these two old thieves; Sonney and Friedman sold sensationalism bluntly and frankly, and enjoyed every minute of it.
